Across their career lifespan, teachers experience a variety of boundary crossings and transitions that are consequential for their learning and practice of the profession. This symposium brings together a contrasting set of empirical contexts and theoretical lenses onto the study of teacher transitional moments with the goal of pinning down some core characteristics of teachers’ transitions and boundary crossings, how teachers negotiate and learn in those moments, and how to better support them in this work.
