#1409: Reimagining Reading Through an Interactive Digital Book

The experience of reading is sometimes viewed as a passive occurrence. However, new possibilities for active–and even creative interactivity–open up when affordances of emerging technologies are leveraged for social and creative opportunities. This arts gallery and performance submission endeavors to ask participants to work in collaboration with artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) / virtual reality (VR) to create an engaging, socially-constructed and surprising digital book. Through the act of co-creation, reading morphs into a collaborative, experiential experience which aims to make the act itself more active, communal, and impactful.
