#1323: Culture & Identity: Creating Meaningful Spaces Through Art

This mural encompasses a variety of emotions, feelings, and perspectives from artists in their path to understanding culture and how it shapes their identity. I believe that creating a collaborative mural is a beautiful visual because it showcases how culture can connect and bring us closer together while also celebrating the differences in all of our cultures and identities and how that uniqueness makes us who we are. Additionally, I think the collaboration and reflection allowed for us to also express the nuances of culture, such as: how cultures can be mixed, how culture can be more than race, gender, sexuality but that communities also build culture, and that culture is not a one sized fits all experience but an ever evolving and growing feeling that constantly changes through time.
