#1204: What’s Edgier than Edgy? Education, baby! Making Art with Children for Research + Dissemination

Tue Jun 16, 2:00 PM–6:00 PM · TBA

This entry to the Arts Gallery & Performance events is a collection of artifacts collaboratively made with young children as part of the Learning, Being, and Doing (LBD) in Families study. This submission features three research artifacts co-created by children, parents, and uni-based researchers. These artifacts include: (A) A construction of cardboard, paper, marker, and tape creation meant to illustrate “perspective” in conversations; (B) A cardboard and paper representation of a family at a campfire with the imagined additions of a uni-based researcher’s two cats; (C) A video co-created by a family and uni-researcher that could be shared in research presentations to introduce our shared work. We will prepare accompanying story cards to elaborate on how each artifact represents a blending of child + parent + uni-based researchers’ repertoires. The co-created artifacts represent innovative co-research methodology for dissemination to audiences that matter to collaborative research teams, especially children.
