#1195: Nobody Lives Without Regrets

Tue Jun 16, 2:00 PM–6:00 PM · TBA

Nobody Lives Without Regrets is a work of interactive speculative fiction in which you, the reader, interview Carmen Torres, a formerly prominent researcher of AI-aided learning, in the year 2056. Depending on the questions you ask, you can guide Carmen’s story to one of twenty-two unique conclusions, each conveying a different speculative future for the integration of AI, education, and society. Inspired by the framework of speculative education, this work instructs the reader to fix their gaze not on the present moment but on the various potential futures that this moment could produce. Through Carmen’s story and your interaction with it, the piece asserts the centrality of the individual’s decisions in shaping the future of our shared society at large. It says that through difficulty and fear, hope always exists for a better future if we work for it.
