#1327: Contracked: Collaborative Learning through Musical Chaos
This project envisions a music making experience to explore productive friction and the value/tradeoffs of rapid feedback through spontaneous collaborative music making in community spaces. In this work, we will engage a group of people in co-creating “music” through independent manipulation of the elements that make that music. The goal of the project is to help people focus on the sources of information that working together with instant feedback (e.g., the music all can hear) enables people to both successfully collaborate and come into “light conflict.” This explores boundaries of productive versus unproductive friction while creating a meaningful musical experience both for the collaborative participants and others around them.
