This presentation will be an improvisational “actual play” performance of the table-top roleplaying game “We Know Something You Don’t Know.” This game, designed by the authors to support educator learning, guides players in creating characters based on commonly marginalized troublemaker archetypes in classrooms. We invite listeners to consider ways the creation of “complex yet capable” troublemakers in co-constructed schools opens space for educators to challenge power hierarchies in figured worlds of schooling and cultivate critical civic empathy.
