#1321: OctoStudio: Mobilizing Creative Learning in Community Contexts
OctoStudio is a mobile coding app co-designed with a global community of educators to provide equitable access to creative learning experiences for young people from all backgrounds. OctoStudio aims to enable learners to transform their phones and tablets into construction materials for creating interactive multimedia projects using block-based programming, device sensors, and culturally-inclusive visual assets. The app has been integrated across informal and formal learning environments globally, supporting cross-curricular learning, and helping to spread creative learning ideas and values. This interactive demo invites participants to create their own OctoStudio projects that combine physical and digital materials, explore applications for research and practice across diverse contexts, and engage in discussion about inclusive creative learning experiences that offer multiple pathways into computing for learners with varied backgrounds and interests.
