#1302: Early Science Hub: Designing Interactive Simulations to Support Preschool Educators' Understanding of Science Core Ideas and Cross Cutting Concepts

To support preschool educators’ integration of science in their classrooms, our project is co-designing the Early Science Hub (Hub), a professional learning resource based on promising components identified in prior work, with partner educators and curriculum/media designers. The Hub and its components are being designed to leverage technology and include educative features to make the resource widely accessible across early learning contexts. This paper details the design and iteration of one specific Hub component, the interactive simulations of science core ideas and cross cutting concepts designed to support preschool educators’ understanding of these. The session will invite participants to explore the interactive simulations and engage in a discussion to gather their insights and feedback, which can inform potential future iterations.
