#1229: Imagining Possibilities for Bridging Research and Practice to Foster Mutual Learning and Lasting Impact

Tue Jun 16, 8:00 AM–11:00 AM · ALP 1700

This four-hour interactive workshop invites participants to explore how expansive learning bridges the research–practice gap through equitable, sustained collaboration. Drawing on our Hearing Each Other’s Voices framework for bidirectional partnerships and knowledge mobilization, the session engages researchers, practitioners, and educational leaders as co-learners in imagining new solutions and co-designing activities that foster mutual learning and transformation (Engeström & Sannino, 2017). Participants will experience an authentic researcher–practitioner exchange, reflect on challenges and opportunities from their own contexts, and contribute to a growing community committed to building shared language and co-created practices. Attendees will leave with practical tools, guiding principles for sustainable collaboration, and concrete steps for advancing partnerships that enhance the usability and impact of learning sciences research.
