#92: Middle School Teachers' Pedagogical Reasoning about Biomimetic Engineering Design

STEM Education Teacher Learning & Professional Development Design-Based Research Project- & Problem-Based Learning
We explored middle school STEM teachers' pedagogical reasoning about middle-schoolers’ biomimetic engineering design. Using case study and grounded theory methods, we interviewed four teachers after they participated in professional development and implemented biomimetic design challenges with their students. Our findings suggest that teachers conceptualize biomimicry as a set of eight sub-skills.
