In response to increasing demand to integrate computational thinking (CT) into K-12 education systems, districts are developing CT Pathways that offer consistent, cumulative, competency-based exposure to CT. The development of these Pathways can be demanding and isolating work. This study examines how communities of practice (CoPs) may be supportive for districts designing and implementing CT Pathways. We found shared ownership in the CoPs was essential for districts participating in CoPs as it promoted ideation, iteration, and knowledge sharing in support of district CT work.
