As GenAI tools become increasingly accessible, understanding how students adopt them in learning is essential. This study surveyed 295 middle school students in East Asia about their GenAI homework behaviors and perceptions. Preliminary results show that students’ perceived confidence in knowing how to use AI appropriately was the strongest predictor of AI adoption behavior, while gender and concerns about being perceived as cheating by teachers and peers also played significant roles.
