#156: Reflections on Developing a Cooperative Virtual Reality Experience for a Character Education Course
In creating an undergraduate-level virtue and character development course that implements virtual reality (VR) as a learning tool, multiple and diverse stakeholders must come together to collaborate. This paper outlines the initial project actions that were taken to build teamwork and understanding both across disciplines as well as with the desired theme of the course. This project involves a multidisciplinary team in education, human development, instructional design, computer science, scriptwriting, and visual arts. It effectively brought experts in these disparate fields together to create a complex and thoughtful VR experience. Set in the design cycle framework, the project demonstrates how each step can be utilized for progress. Reflections on the process and how multidisciplinary teams can function effectively are shared.
