This study examines how conviviality, ingenuity, and re-mediation were central to a musical community’s collaborative learning practices. The poster highlights how joint participation in everyday quotidian activities created opportunities to learn the cultural practices of fandango music. Drawing on frameworks of hybridity in informal learning, this study demonstrates how weekend gatherings that blended everyday practices with musical education mediated a collective ingenuity that enabled learners to repurpose a children’s toy into a tool for learning.
