In this practice-oriented paper, we underscore ICLS’s 2026 theme of “Partnering with Purpose” by describing the process and outcomes of a collaborative project between community members and a large public university. By attending to values of reciprocity, relationships, community expertise, and the power of place, we developed a set of curriculum materials that draw on the expertise of two Black urban farmers in their work to transform educational and agricultural experiences for youth. We outline our collaborative process, project outcomes, and next steps for supporting this and other innovative community partnerships.
