#755: Design-Based Approaches to Co-Analysis in Collaborative Research
Research-practice partnerships (RPPs) and design-based implementation research (DBIR) emphasize co-design with stakeholders, yet approaches for collaborative data analysis remain underdeveloped. This paper examines how design approaches can scaffold qualitative and quantitative inquiry for diverse partners in co-analysis processes. We present two working examples: the TRACE Project, which developed a community-driven taxonomy of arts program outcomes through collaborative classification with 26 community arts organizations, and the Whole Child Analytics Project (WCAP), which employed AI-assisted reflection tools to measure college and career readiness competencies through teacher and student co-design in a large, urban school district. Through these cases, we illustrate methods for creating spaces that afford meaningful engagement from all partners while honoring multiple perspectives, voices, and worldviews in the analysis process.
