#1283: From Thought to Action: Designing AI Coaching Support for Time Management with Cognitive Behavioral and Self-Regulated Learning Strategies
This demonstration introduces TimeWise, a conversational agent that integrates self-regulated learning (SRL) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to provide personalized, context-aware coaching for time management in online learning. The system leverages learning management system data to visualize study patterns and initiate reflective dialogue grounded in students’ actual learning activity. Through guided interaction, TimeWise engages students in examining their thoughts, identifying irrational beliefs, and reconstructing more adaptive perspectives to restore task-oriented behavior. We present the design principles and illustrative interaction cases that demonstrate how the system operationalizes SRL and CBT integration. This work highlights the potential of combining these frameworks to promote sustained academic regulation in online learning contexts.
