#1221: LexiLearn: Sensory AI-enhanced VR Integration for Literacy Skills Acquisition
LexiLearn is an artificial intelligence (AI) enhanced virtual reality (VR) learning experi-ence for literacy education. The system introduces a novel integration of AI with adaptable haptic interfaces, supporting both wearable gloves and handheld VR controllers. The pro-ject investigates how multisensory engagement within an adaptive, generative VR envi-ronment can support literacy acquisition, including spelling, reading through interactive and playful movement, phoneme–grapheme recognition and recall, and visual–sensory as-sociations. Led by a cross-disciplinary research team, this project explores innovative al-ternatives to immersive learning environments. It examines how multisensory and AI-driven technologies can be meaningfully implemented for diverse learners, aiming to in-form and transform the educational practice through practice-based design and research methods.
