#140: Exploring STEM Teachers’ AI Readiness, Attitudes, and Uses of Generative AI across Teaching Subjects

Wed Jun 17, 4:15 PM–5:45 PM · Outdoors

This study explores the integration of AI among Taiwanese STEM teachers, revealing a shift from utilitarian tool use toward co-creative partnership. While efficiency-driven tasks currently predominate, innovative applications are emerging in interdisciplinary contexts. Disciplinary norms significantly influence adoption: mathematics teachers prioritize precision, while science and interdisciplinary teachers leverage AI for creative integration. The findings suggest that professional development could provide discipline-specific support to empower teachers as collaborative partners in AI-integrated classrooms.
