A community-led site walk introduced engineering professionals and students to new understandings about space/place, which in turn, improved participatory co-design practice. We present a framework for exploring how site walks made different objects of reasoning visible (material and spatial) and subverted social hierarchies (between engineers and community members), and close by discussing the value of such site walks for engineering education.
