Climate & Environmental Education Equity, Justice & Inclusion Epistemic Cognition & Argumentation Co-Design & Participatory Design
The growing impacts of climate change-driven disasters and environmental issues on communities create a compelling case for using these issues as anchoring phenomena to support both science learning and disaster resilience. This poster shares results from a co-produced middle school wildfire science unit. Results include 1) How self-situation in localized data sets shaped student conclusions and 2) How students incorporated knowledge of their community when analyzing data and constructing evidence-based arguments about wildfire resilience.
