#1058: From Feedback to Dialogue: Exploring Rubric-Aligned Chatbot Feedback in Human-Centered Design Education

Generative AI tools offer new possibilities for feedback in design education. This study examines student perceptions of a rubric-aligned, multi-agent chatbot integrated into a 16-week Human-Centered Design course. Using post-course survey data (N = 8), we analyzed usability, workflow integration, and feedback quality. Students found the tool moderately usable, with feedback described as clear and actionable, though sometimes misaligned with project context. Findings suggest AI can support dialogic reflection, while highlighting challenges of integration and trust.
