#1010: Artificial Revelation: How Artificial Intelligence Exposes the Indiscernibility of Learning

Wed Jun 17, 4:15 PM–5:45 PM · Outdoors

This study reframes artificial intelligence (AI) in education not as technological disruption but as a revelatory event. Drawing on Luhmann’s concept of autopoiesis, we argue that AI exposes pre-existing epistemological flaws in education’s operational logic. Education reproduces itself through self-referential proxies of performance and assessment that stand in for learning. AI makes this substitution visible by collapsing the distinction between authentic and simulated learning, inviting us to re-think how learning is defined, verified and evaluated.
