Maker Education & Constructionism Higher Education & Undergraduate Learning Embodied & Multimodal Learning Arts-Based & Creative Learning
This exploratory study explores how university instructors integrate making into their teaching through the lens of aesthetic encounters and sociomaterial theory. Four themes arose: designing for sensory engagement, material-meaning coupling, participatory visibility, and contextual dynamics. The findings highlight how instructors intentionally design sensory, material, and spatial conditions that facilitate embodied learning, creativity, and reflection in maker-integrated higher education classrooms.
