#901: Partnering with different Communities in STEAM learning: Culturally Responsive E-Textile Learning for Expression

Guided by design-based research and the conjecture map approach, this study applied a culturally responsive approach to STEAM activities across two communities. In an African American community, children engaged in culturally grounded conversations that informed artifacts expressing pride and identity. In an Asian American community, children’s designs reflected cultural expression grounded in family memories. Findings suggest that adapting conjecture maps can support cultural expression and inclusive STEAM experiences.
