Despite political hostility young people have and will continue to immigrate to the U.S. with educational aspirations. School enrollment is an essential site to facilitate meaningful partnership between im/migrant communities and public schools. Upon enrollment, educators quickly make decisions that shape im/migrant youth’s educational trajectories. To alig with recently arrived students and their families’ goals, educators need data. Recently arrived im/migrant youth are the best people to help schools figure out what data they need.
