Learning Analytics & Educational Data Mining Design-Based Research Higher Education & Undergraduate Learning
This study used learning experience network analysis to examine nine student reflections in a graduate advanced instructional design course. The analysis identified four distinct learning ecologies, each with unique patterns of struggles, successes, and alignments with learning theories. Based on these findings, we propose specific, theory-grounded design moves tailored to each ecology. This work demonstrates a method for developing more humanizing and adaptive learning experiences, offering a data-driven alternative to one-size-fits-all course design.
