Indigenous, Decolonial & Global South Perspectives Systems Thinking & Complex Systems Learning Culturally Sustaining & Responsive Pedagogy STEM Education Equity, Justice & Inclusion
The Grafemos complexity education project promotes equitable STEM by blending Indigenous Mayan knowledge with non-computational modelling in rural communities. Over two years, it nurtures culturally responsive educators through Mayan weaving epistemologies, enhancing self-efficacy, growth mindsets, and community innovation. Using the nested learning engineering process (LEP), authentic assessment, and collaboration, Grafemos develops local leaders to sustain inclusive, decolonizing complexity education, transforming their region into a hub of innovative educational practice.
