#118: Immersive Storytelling and Embodied Experience in Informal Learning Contexts

Wed Jun 17, 4:15 PM–5:45 PM · Online

This study investigates how immersive technologies and narrative strategy enhance embodied learning and presence in informal education. Grounded in embodied cognition, it analyzes three student-designed AR, VR, and smart glasses experiences at a Western Canadian science center. Using a qualitative case study, findings show that bodily interaction, sensory engagement, and storytelling deepen users’ sense of presence. Integrating narrative with physical interaction transforms passive observation into active participation, reimagining informal learning as engaging, multisensory, and impactful.
